Day One : Part 2

After the tea shop, Rocky took us to a popular local restuarant.

(Lisa, Quin, Dad)

The food was HOT!!!! But it was definitely good! However, since we had all been so jet-lagged the night before I had forgotten to charge my camera. In revenge it decided to stop working. Luckily, Dad's and Jacob's cameras were still working.

You'll notice that instead of cups of water we have bottled water. Because it's so polluted over there, you can't drink water from the tap safely.

These are 'meatballs', but we never found out what kind of meat was in them.

After lunch,  the Forbidden City!!!!!!!

{Dad}
It was crowded.
Like, I can't move without touching people crowded.
People who were having their kids stand by us to take pictures crowded.

It was also really cold. And since we hadn't been prepared for 50/60s degree weather, Lauren was pretty much frozen. So our guide, Rocky, gave her his vest.

Day One : Part One

Before we went to Nanning, China to collect Eliana, we spent a couple of days in Beijing to adjust to the different time zone and to do some site seeing. On our first day, our guide Rocky first took us and one other couple on a Rik-Shaw ride.

After that, we were invited to into one of the house to see how they live in that area.

The house actually belonged to a Chinese artist and his wife. Their house had been in their family for 5 generations.

(Mrs. Artist showing us her husband's work)
While we were there, my crazy-awesome Dad actually bought me one of his paintings!

(My painting!)

After that, Rocky took us to a tea house.

Sorry about the picture, the computer is revolting against me at the moment.

We were able to try 10 different types of tea.

My family.

The tea cups there were beautiful!
